THESE TWO GOT THIS TIGER WITH A SPEAR

I don't know the name of this place but it is up with the Mountain People (Mountain yards) . My fox hole was by the road and was able to take these pictures up close. I found out that the V.C. were all around us the night before.
We were very lucky.

These two Mountain yards went out in the early morning and bagged this tiger.

NOTE from J Misner: When I saw these two in the early morning the only thing they had with them was a very long spear. I couldn't believe my eyes when they came back with this tiger strung up on that pole. I believe the name of the place was Plei Do Lim Special Forces camp. and was in June or July 1966. I took photos also but never got them out of country. SP/4 Tom Rogers

Here I am going on detail or on a mission. We were always on the go as you well know. My 5 ton was always loaded with 200 lb rounds

L to R Ruben Martinez - UNKNOWN

We started out with an empty hill and look at all the the modern connivances we built from scratch. these were our shower stalls. Two shower heads.

We need help with this group .... everyone is unknown except Ruben Martinez at lower right

It does look a little primitive - that's two 2 holers and at the right in the shower. What else could a guy ask for?

At the left is the mess hall and on the right I believe was the Orderly Room and guns in the background.

When we moved in it was Dec 1965 and there was nothing there but a few snakes. On top of the hill was 'B' Btry 29th Arty (Searchlight)

It's hard to get a clear photo when one of those 8"s fire one

One of the the best living quarters. Spent a lot of time and sweat filling sand bags.

"THE WATER RUN". Went down to the local lake to fill six 55 gal drums. The kids would do the hand pump for a few "C" rations. Water was for the shower and the mess hall.

Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home. Looks like a bomb went off in there but this is what it looked like.
