Learn to Fly For Free

The FlightGear flight simulator project is an open-source, multi-platform, cooperative flight simulator development project. Source code for the entire project is available and licensed under the GNU General Public License.

The goal of the FlightGear project is to create a sophisticated flight simulator framework for use in research or academic environments, for the development and pursuit of other interesting flight simulation ideas, and as an end-user application. We are developing a sophisticated, open simulation framework that can be expanded and improved upon by anyone interested in contributing.

Have friends or family in other states or stationed overseas?  Want to have a free video conference with them whenever you want?  See them and talk to them!

Participating computers require microphone and speakers for voice and a web cam for video.  These items are common and can be purchased inexpensively.

Skype is a little piece of software that lets you make free calls to anyone else on Skype, anywhere in the world. And even though the calls are free, they are really excellent quality. If you and your friends, family or business contacts are using webcams, you can also make free video calls. You can even call landlines and mobile phones at really cheap per minute rates.   http://skype.com

Use OpenOffice.org  A free, open source, suite of powerful office programs comparable to MS Office - developed, in part, by Sun Microsystems.  Distributed under the General Public License.  It imports and exports many different file formats and  even creates PDF's.  Used by some Public Library's for their public computers.
